The Brown Boyz Gospel Singers originated in 1982, under the management of Anna Brown and The late Willie Brown, Sr. At that time, the group consisted of three brothers and cousins, ranging in ages between 10 and 14. While their peers were out playing, the young boys rehearsed several times a week learning to play their own instruments as well as practicing their vocals. As a result of years of dedication to perfecting their music, The Brown Boys developed their own unique and versatile style, which incorporated both contemporary and traditional genres of gospel music.
The Brown Boyz, now consisting of brothers Curtis, Dennis and Willie Brown, and family friend cousin, Joe Williams have released three records, “Jump for Joy,” in 2005, “Harvest Time” in 2009, and “Evolution” in 2012. They impacted the Billboard charts and Top 30 Gospel charts with “Love Like That”, “It’s Alright”, and “Better Dayz” and have received 4 Stellar Award nominations.
The Brown Boyz have been blessed to tour throughout the United States sharing the stage with an endless list of world renowned gospel artists such as, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC’s, The Williams Brothers, Martha Munizzi, Israel and New Breed, Fred Hammond and James Fortune, just to name a few.
In 2016, The Brown Boyz signed with a new manager, Shawn Christopher, Owner and President of The Christopher Entertainment Agency, and in 2017 they signed a new record deal with SIX19 Music, a record label owned by Shawn Christopher and distributed by Dream Label Group/Capital Christian Distribution.
