NCPD investigates homicide at senior living facility

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department is investigating an early morning homicide at a senior living facility.

Spokesperson for the police department, Harve Jacobs, says officers responded to the North Haven Residential Home on the 4300 block of Leslie Street just before 5:30 a.m. for a reported assault.

Officers were told that a male resident was suffering an injury. Before officers arrived at the scene, Charleston County EMS and the North Charleston Fire Department tried to administer aid, but the victim ultimately died.

Officers detained another resident for questioning. However, no charges have been filed.

The police department says the investigation is ongoing.
