Deputies confirm one person in critical condition after shooting in shopping center parking lot

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person injured in Dorchester County.

According to deputies, just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning, the Dorchester County Consolidated Dispatch Center was notified by the Summerville Police of a shooting victim at Summerville Medical Center.

Officials were told that the incident took place in the parking lot of The Shoppes of Windsor Hill Crossing Shopping Center on Ashley Phosphate Rd.

Deputies responded to the area and established the crime scene and secured the area with crime scene tape to begin their investigation.

After arriving on scene, no 911 call was received reporting the incident nor were there calls of shots heard or shots fired in the area.

The victim of the shooting is in critical condition and being treated at a local hospital.

This is an active investigation and investigators are still working leads to determine what happened.
