Coroner ID’s man after remains found in deadly Hollywood house fire
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Coroner Coroner has released the identity of a man after his remains were discovered in a Hollywood home destroyed in a fire.
Coroner Bobbi O’Neal identified the deceased man as Walter Pittman Jr. (71, of Hollywood) who died from injuries after the house fire.
CCSO and firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at an Edgar Tumbleson Road residence around 11:30 p.m. to find a fully involved mobile home and human remains inside the home.
“Investigators determined that electricity had been shut off at the home,” CCSO spokesperson Andrew Knapp said.
At this time, there is no indication of arson or foul play.
An investigation is ongoing.
