Crews responding to brush fire at Palmetto Commerce Parkway

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Fire crews are responding to an active brush fire in the area of Palmetto Commerce Wednesday morning.

The North Charleston Fire Department is urging the public to avoid Palmetto Commerce Boulevard and Patriots Boulevard as firefighters work the fire.

The Charleston County Emergency Services Building nearby has been evacuated due to the large fire.

The 9-1-1 center is still operating normally but officials are asking the public to not call 9-1-1 to report the fire.
