Berkeley County detectives investigating deadly Ridgeville shooting

RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a deadly Tuesday evening shooting in Ridgeville.

Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to a location on Earthas Way after 9-1-1 received multiple calls from people who reported hearing gunfire in the area.

While heading to the scene, the sheriff’s office said Berkeley County dispatchers received an additional call about a man who had been shot.

Deputies found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene by Berkeley County EMS.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity when appropriate.
