Nikki Haley to hold Feb. 4 rally on Daniel Island
DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – Nikki Haley, who is seeking to defeat Donald Trump in her bid for the Republican presidential nomination, will campaign on Daniel Island this weekend.
The former South Carolina governor and United States Ambassador to the United Nations will deliver remarks at New Realm Brewing Company on Sunday evening.
The campaign event comes one day after the state’s Democratic presidential preference primary and nearly two weeks after holding a rally in North Charleston.
A poll from The Hill/Decision Desk shows her challenger, former President Donald Trump, with a commanding lead in the Palmetto State. Still, Haley said during a Jan. 28 rally in Conway that the primary race is far from over and is showing no plans of dropping out of the race.
Haley also dismissed not winning out on endorsements from top South Carolina elected officials including Gov. Henry McMaster and U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott, who are all backing Trump.
“He completely surrounds himself with all these political elitists. The same group that has done nothing for us on wasteful spending and getting rid of it. The same group that continues to keep our education down instead of lifting up our kids,” she said during the campaign stop. “You can have them. I don’t want ’em.”
The rally will be held at 6:00 p.m. Those interested in attending can register online.
