Coastal storm to bring wind, rain to Charleston coast Sunday into early Monday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A coastal storm will bring gusty wind and heavy rain to much of the Charleston area on Sunday and into early Monday morning.
The coastal low is expected to form in the Gulf of Mexico and move across Florida and to our south, spreading rain showers late into the night, according to Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Grace Lowe.
High winds, coastal flooding, and heavy rain are forecast to begin Sunday afternoon.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Charleston say portions of coastal Colleton and Charleston counties could receive 1.5 to 2 inches of rain, primarily late Sunday night.
Minor to moderate coastal flooding is likely with early morning high tide on Monday.
