Woman, 71, attacked by 2 dogs near Pawleys Island
PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – A woman was attacked by two dogs near Pawleys Island early Thursday morning, according to deputies.
Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) tell News 2 that the 71-year-old woman called law enforcement from a home on Parkersville Road just before 9:00 a.m. claiming she was chased and bitten by two dogs.
When deputies and paramedics arrived, they determined the woman was bitten four times by the animals. She was taken to the emergency room at Waccamaw Community Hospital for treatment.
Her condition has not been released.
Officials said the owner of the two dogs was able to secure them. There is no word on any charges.
Georgetown County Animal Control is expected to interview the woman about the attack.
