1 dead after crashing into tree following attempted traffic stop on Johns Island

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – One person has died after crashing into a tree Sunday evening on Johns Island.

Deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) attempted to stop a vehicle on Bohicket Road; however, officials said the driver ended up crashing into a tree.

CCSO said the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
