Teen arrested after shots-fired call in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) — A 16-year-old has been charged after a shots-fired call near Gilbert Road and Alex Alford Drive led to the discovery of the teen with a stolen pistol.

The minor is charged with aggravated breach of peace and possession of a stolen firearm.

The Georgetown Police Department received the call around 6 p.m. Wednesday night, saying the suspects were a group of male juveniles.
GPD said Patrol and Street Crime Units responded and found the minors at the intersection of Gilbert and Merriman Road.

When they approached, the suspect group ran but were apprehended after a short chase. One 16-year-old was found to be in possession of a stolen Glock 9mm pistol with an extended magazine, GPD said.

The accused was arrested and taken to the Georgetown Police Department.
