Drivers fed up with unfinished construction on Henry Brown Boulevard
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Drivers in Berkeley County say they are fed up with unfinished business on Henry E. Brown Jr., Boulevard.
Bob Caddell lives in the Liberty Village neighborhood and says crews began improvements on a stretch of Henry Brown between Liberty Hall Road and the traffic circle at Montague Plantation Road about three years ago.
But recently, Caddell said the roadwork has stopped and he does not understand why this section of the project couldn’t be finished by now.
That’s why he reached out to News 2, asking for an update and his neighbors, because he said no one else has.
According to Berkeley County, phase 2 of this project – which will widen about four miles of Henry Brown Blvd. – is expected to be completed by December 24 of this year, at a current price tag of $24.7 million. The project will add medians, turn lanes, and a new multi-use path.
County officials we heard from said Berkeley County residents can find information like this themselves in real-time by using an interactive dashboard on their website or by clicking here.
It’s a great resource when roadway projects are just driving you crazy – or maybe you’re a little curious about construction plans.
