Second wave of storms expected on Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Storm Team 2 says the worst of the flooding and potential for severe weather is over following the string of showers Saturday morning that caused substantial flooding throughout the Lowcountry.

Saturday morning storms brought heavy rainfall and gusty winds that caused multiple road closures throughout North Charleston and the downtown Charleston area.

The good news is the rain stabilized the atmosphere. Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Jed Christoph said the rainfall lowered the potential for severe weather and tornadoes.

Storm Team 2 says showers are expected to end around 8 p.m. It’s looking mostly sunny on Sunday and into the start of your work week on Monday.
