Charleston’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade happening Saturday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Bagpipes, step dancers, and a sea of green – thousands are expected to cheer on Charleston’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade this weekend.
The parade, which is put on each year by the Charleston St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. immediately following a celebratory mass held at St. Patrick’s Church at 8:00 a.m.
The parade will start near the church at the corner of Radcliffe and St. Phillip Streets. From there, it will travel onto King Street and proceed south toward Broad Street.
Follow along as the parade takes a right onto Broad Street and ends at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The best view of the parade will be along King Street.
Organizers say the parade will feature Irish step dancers, bagpipers, fiddlers, marching bands, floats, fire trucks, antique cars, local schools, parishes, and more.
Drivers can anticipate some road closures along the parade route Saturday morning.
