Authorities searching for illegal immigrant wanted on firearm possession charge
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are searching for a 30-year-old man wanted on two counts of firearm possession by an unlawful alien.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) and other law enforcement agencies attempted to serve a warrant on a home in the Archdale neighborhood last week.
Officials said that the suspect, Fredy Antonio Gonzales Gamboa ran from a traffic stop conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers on the morning of March 19 – the man’s vehicle was found shortly after at an address on Lewisfield Drive where he was known to reside.
Gonzales Gamboa was wanted by the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) on two counts of firearm possession by an unlawful alien.
DCSO’s SWAT team was activated and responded to the home where they began communicating with a woman inside. She and a juvenile were escorted from the home to a safe area.
The SWAT team utilized drones, a robot, and a K-9 during the morning operation. After two searches, the home was cleared, and Gonzales Gamboa was not found.
Officials with the sheriff’s office said Gonzales Gamboa’s whereabouts are still unknown. They ask anyone who may know where he is to contact local law enforcement.
