Popular ‘goose chase’ scavenger hunt returns to Goose Creek this spring break
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – Several artful geese have nested throughout the City of Goose Creek – are you up to the challenge of finding them all?
As families look for ways to enjoy spring break, Goose Creek city leaders unveiled plans for a city-wide scavenger hunt where people can grab a map, take a picture with each goose statue, and return their findings for a prize.
The city’s recreation department teamed up with the Goose Creek Artists Guild to introduce the program last year; since then, more than 20 area businesses have adopted a goose statue.
Artist guild members uniquely painted the statues based on ideas from each business. The initiative aims to increase foot traffic for local businesses.
The scavenger hunt begins on Saturday, March 30, and is considered ongoing. As part of the spring break challenge, three statues will “lay” a golden egg every day which organizers said holds prizes like coupons from the local businesses.
Participants can grab a map for the scavenger hunt online by clicking here. It includes a checklist and printable certificate for those who complete the task. Or you can test your skills and search for the geese without using the map.
