Crews respond to apartment fire on Huger St.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Fire Department (CFD) responded to an apartment fire on Huger St. just after 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Officials say crews were called for an automatic alarm at the Element apartment complex on the 200 block of Huger St. Upon arrival crews were told the fire was in the trash chute area, which later upgraded to a structure fire.
According to CPD, firefighters quickly located the fire which was contained by the automatic fire sprinkler system and controlled the blaze.
Officials say crews are still ventilating smoke from the building and investigators are reviewing the scene.
No injuries were reported.
