1 dead after car crash in Georgetown County
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left one person dead on U.S. 701 on Saturday night.
Officials say the collision occurred at 11:30 p.m. Saturday near Lucy Grier Dr.
According to Lance Corporal Lena Butler, A 2017 GMC Sierra pickup was traveling south when they collided with a disabled 2005 Nissan Altima on U.S. 701.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital by EMS, where they later died. They were the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The driver and passenger of the GMC were not injured.
The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
