Charleston weather today: Rain chances increase Monday afternoon through Tuesday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Don’t rule out chances for rain as we begin a new work week.
Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Josh Marthers said we can expect a partly to mostly cloudy day with some passing showers Monday afternoon and evening. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Rain chances will increase overnight through Tuesday.
Marthers said occasional rain and some thunderstorms are likely with temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 after starting the day in the 60s.
“Some heavy rain is expected, with most neighborhoods picking up 1-2″ of rain. Significant, widespread flooding is not expected,” said Marthers.
As for the rest of the week, warmer temperatures will return Wednesday and Thursday with most areas in the mid to upper 80s with lower rain chances. But it will be a bit unsettled at times Friday through Sunday with rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected.
