Missing monkey captured in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD)- A monkey that escaped its habitat in Walterboro last week has been captured.

Colleton County Animal Services said Bradley, a 15-year-old Japanese macaque, has been successfully reunited with its owner.

An area-wide search began Thursday after the monkey escaped from his habitat where he has lived for nearly six years.

“The outpouring of concern and information from Colleton County residents has been overwhelming and we are thankful for the public’s support in helping to locate Bradley,” officials said in a news release. “We so appreciate the community’s support for animal welfare.”
