Boater dies after crash near James Island Connector

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A boater was killed in a Friday night crash near the James Island Connector.

Officers and investigators with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) responded to a single-boat accident after the vessel appeared to have struck a day marker.

SCDNR said the boat operator died from his injuries. 

“Our condolences are with the victim’s loved ones. This is an ongoing investigation,” the agency said.

The victim’s name has not been released.
