1 injured after vehicle crashes into West Ashley shop, then leaves scene
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – One person was injured Monday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into a West Ashley convenience store and then left the scene.
Officials with the Charleston Police Department (CPD) said a vehicle struck the front of a Kwik Stop on Ashley River Road around 12:30 p.m.
Police said the vehicle then reversed and left the scene. The vehicle was later located, and the driver has been taken into custody for hit-and-run-related offenses.
One person inside the store was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
