1 firefighter injured, 2 displaced in North Charleston house fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Fire Department responded to a house fire on Saturday afternoon, which displaced two homeowners.

Crews arrived at the corner of Key Thatch Court and Sentry Circle in the Indigo Palms neighborhood around 12:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a residential structure fire with visible flames, according to the North Charleston Fire Chief Chief Steven Darnell.

The fire was extinguished within an hour of arrival. Officials say two homeowners are displaced following the fire.

Chief Steven Darnell says one firefighter has sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the North Charleston Fire Department.
