Mount Pleasant Seafood obtains permit to sell items outside after building damaged in fire

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A seafood market on Shem Creek has received the go-ahead to sell its seafood products outside farmers’ market-style.

Mount Pleasant Seafood suffered significant damage when a fire erupted in the oyster cooler in late April. They have been selling seafood in the town’s weekly farmer’s market.

The business told News 2 that they have received a permit to begin selling products in front of their location on Shem Creek beginning Wednesday while work is being done to restore the building, which remains closed.

The outside market will operate Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

They will be closed on July 4.
