Man denied bond in Fourth of July fatal shooting
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Berkeley County deputies have arrested a man accused of firing several shots inside a home, killing one person on the Fourth of July.
Norman Robinson Jr. is charged with murder and seven counts of attempted murder.
Investigators say Robinson got into an altercation with an individual outside a home in the Alvin community in Berkeley County on July 4.
He then shot and killed the victim, who has not been identified by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office yet. He also fired into a home multiple times that had seven people inside, many of whom were his cousins, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
During bond court, Robinson apologized to the victim’s family members but said he could not have committed the crime.
A magistrate judge denied bond for the attempted murder charges. Robinson will have to have a bond hearing with a circuit court judge for the murder charge.
U.S. Marshals and the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest of Robinson, who was found in Orangeburg County on Thursday.
