Woman arrested at Pine Forest Country Club after methamphetamine discovery
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) — Summerville Police arrested a woman Sunday accused of trafficking methamphetamine after a traffic stop for trespassing at the Pine Forest Country Club.
Carolyn Edith Lord was taken to the Dorchester County Detention Center and booked on one charge of trafficking methamphetamine.
An officer on patrol was checking the swimming pool at Pine Forest after hours when they noticed a vehicle leaving the parking. The officer initiated a traffic stop for trespassing after hours and found the car had five passengers, including an 11-year-old.
Passengers admitted they were trying to go swimming in the pool after hours. During the interaction, the officer noticed Lord and two of the other occupants “to be extremely nervous, shaking, and dodging questions,” the incident report stated.
The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle, and when Lord exited, a bag of methamphetamine and a glass pipe for smoking meth fell out. Lord was detained and informed police that she had 7 grams of methamphetamine in the bag with the pipe, according to the incident report.
After searching the vehicle, officers found in all 60 grams of methamphetamine, a one-gram marijuana blunt, and a 2.5-gram bag of a “green plant-like substance,” the report said.
Lord is awaiting a bond hearing at the detention center.
