Darius Rucker headlining Charleston County “Back to School Bash”

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — Charleston native and three-time Grammy winner Darius Rucker will perform at Charleston County School District’s “Back to School Bash,” the district said.

The bash will take place Tuesday, August 6, at Credit One Stadium from 5 to 9 p.m. Local celebrities, including News 2’s own Octavia Mitchell, Bill Walsh, and Ric Rush, will attend the event.

“We are delighted to host this spectacular event,” said Anita Huggins, Superintendent of Schools. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our faculties and staff to come together, celebrate our achievements, look forward to an amazing school year ahead, and show our thanks to the hearts and the hands who dedicate their workday to children each and every day.”

The night will include performances, food, games, and more to kick off the new school year. Refreshments will be for sale.

The event itinerary includes a ‘Showcase of the Bands’ and a ‘School Spirit Contest’ for the best displays of school pride. School-based dance teams, cheerleaders, choral groups, steppers, and mascots will also perform throughout the night.
