Deputies make arrest in Ladson drive-by shooting that injured adult, 2 juveniles
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – A 23-year-old Summerville man is facing charges in connection with a drive-by shooting that injured an adult and two juveniles.
Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sundial Lane around 7 p.m. and found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. The adult and two juveniles were taken to an area hospital.
An investigation determined the injuries stemmed from a drive-by shooting and said the suspect vehicle was seen on surveillance cameras and the suspect was identified as Demontae Trevon Jones, according to the sheriff’s office.
With help from the Summerville Police Department, the suspect vehicle was located at an apartment complex and Jones was taken into custody. He is charged with four counts of attempted murder.
“Our deputies worked quickly to ensure Jones was brought to justice,” said Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis. “I am thankful to our municipal partner, Summerville Police Department, for their assistance in providing officers and SWAT.”
Jones was booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. Additional charges are likely.
