TD4 becomes Tropical Storm Debby

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Tropical Depression Four was upgraded to Tropical Storm Debby on Saturday afternoon.

The storm is currently located off the coast of Cuba and will move into the southern Gulf where it will likely be upgraded into a tropical storm.

Forecast models show the storm moving into Florida before trekking across the state and reemerging in the Atlantic off the Georgia and South Carolina coast.

Latest guidance shows the storm moving into the Charleston area by Thursday afternoon.

The storm will have impacts on the area for days, including heavy rainfall, coastal and inland flooding, and gusty winds.
