VIDEO: Boat sinks as water rapidly flows into Hidden Cove Marina

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Water began running into Hidden Cove Marina on Friday morning after heavy rain fell overnight, causing flash flooding throughout Berkeley County.

The marina is located just off the Cooper River near Lake Moultrie.

Video showed overflowing water rapidly rushing into the marina from the parking lot and boat ramp, overtaking at least one boat anchored along a dock.

Barbecue restaurant Swig & Swine is also located at the marina. There did not appear to be any damage to the restaurant or marina facility as of Friday morning.

Heavy rain overnight prompted what emergency officials called a ‘flash flood emergency’ for areas of the county, mostly due to rain and flooding from Tropical Storm Debby.
