Two arrested on drug, gun charges after search at downtown Charleston home

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- Two men are facing charges after officers seized narcotics and multiple firearms during a search of a downtown Charleston home.

According to the Charleston Police Department, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Doscher Avenue around 9 a.m. Friday as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cocaine base, marijuana, prescription drugs, five firearms, and several firearm accessories, including drum magazines, a buttstock, and a customer trigger were reportedly found inside the residence.

Two of the firearms had been reported stolen, according to police.

Keith Lamar Middleton, 26, was charged with possession with intent to distribute (PWID) cocaine, PWID cocaine base, 2 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen handgun, and cruelty to animals. Authorities said he is currently under parole supervision.

K’Von Hasim Middleton, 23, was charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, PWID cocaine, PWID marijuana, PWID cocaine base, PWID of a controlled substance, and 2 counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

“This was the result of an extended investigation, aided by patrol officers, detectives, and members of the community,” a news release stated.

Both men are currently being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
