Summerville Police investigating deadly Wednesday morning hit-and-run crash

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a Wednesday morning hit-and-run crash.

Officers with the Summerville Police Department responded to a section of Dorchester Road near Parlor Drive around 1:18 a.m. after a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

The man died at the scene, and police say an unknown vehicle left the area heading eastbound on Dorchester Road.

Dorchester Road was closed for several hours while police investigated the scene.
