At least 2 injured in Dorchester County collision on Highway 78

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a collision that occurred in Dorchester County where two vehicles collided, one landing on top of the other.

Dorchester County officials said the collision occurred on U.S. Highway 78 near Water Wheel Road. At least two individuals were taken to the hospital; however, the severity of their injuries is unknown.

First responders said they are still working to determine the number of individuals injured.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision. The roadway was shut down for several hours but has since reopened.
