Pedestrian struck in roadway near Kingstree

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian collision that occurred Thursday night in Williamsburg County.

Troopers say the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. about 1 mile north of Kingstree.

A pedestrian was traveling north on Broad Swamp Road when a 2011 Ford SUV, also traveling north, struck them on the roadway, troopers report.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford was the sole occupant and was not injured.

The Williamsburg County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
