Police arrested man accused of robbing Summerville gas station

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Police in Summerville say they have arrested a man accused of robbing a local gas station.

27-year-old Ziare Xavier Civilize Smalls was charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Police said he entered the MIA Quick Stop at W 5th North Street on June 27 and robbed the establishment. Smalls entered the gas station saying he had a firearm and demanded money from the cash register, according to Summerville officers.

Smalls also asked for several cigar boxes and stole the cashier’s phone.

Police, US Marshals, and the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Smalls. He is at the Dorchester County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
