Man arrested after drug and weapon seize in Georgetown County

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man after deputies seized drugs and weapons from his residence.

According to deputies, Rashawn Quamane Scott, 34, of Andrews, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit on an outstanding warrant as part of an ongoing investigation.

Officials say Scott was found with several ounces of suspected marijuana and a loaded handgun.

During a search of his residence, deputies found more marijuana and an additional firearm, packaging materials and digital scales.

Authorities state Scott is federally prohibited from possessing a handgun due to his criminal history.

Charges are pending for two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, deputies say.

Scott is being held at Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
