Mathew Knowles Reacts To Beyonce’s Album Snub by Country Music Awards

Mathew Knowles has entered the chat.

Beyonce‘s chart-topping Cowboy Carter album failed to earn a single nod at the Country Music Awards and many are crying foul. Of course, the Beyhive was quick to defend their muse and queen, and many outside the core fanbase are scratching their head at how a project that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and claimed the biggest week of 2024 with 407,000 equivalent album units sold still wasn’t enough to earn a CMA nomination.

In an interview with TMZ, Bey’s dad said he’s “not entirely surprised” that his famous daughter’s project went unrecognized.

“There’s more white people in America and unfortunately they don’t vote based on ability and achievements,” he said. “It’s still sometimes a white and black thing.” Knowles further clarified that he was not accusing CMA voters of being racist but noted that the snub “speaks for itself.”
