North Charleston restaurant rallies community to support storm-affected families
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – In the wake of Tropical Storm Helene, The CODfather, Proper Fish & Chips in North Charleston, is spearheading a relief drive to collect donations for those affected.
Moved by the devastation and the pleas of friends searching for missing loved ones, the restaurant’s owner has organized a donation effort to help storm victims. A trailer is set up at the restaurant today, accepting essential supplies to aid in the recovery.
Items needed include bottled water, Gatorade, canned goods, hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes, cleaning supplies, and pet food. Monetary donations for gas can be made through Venmo (@fishboy843), with any unused funds donated to the relief efforts.
The CODfather is working with professionals and people on the ground to ensure the donations are distributed properly and safely. “Let’s fill this trailer!” urged the owner, expressing gratitude to the local US Foods Chefs Store for their generous support in kickstarting the drive.
The restaurant is calling on the community to come together in this time of need.
