One man killed in early morning shooting in Andrews; suspect arrested

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Andrews, leaving one man dead.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. at Shaw’s Corner Store on Martin Luther King Drive.

The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room at approximately 2 a.m.

Sheriff Carter Weaver announced the arrest of 24-year-old Hezekiah Wilson, who is being detained at the Georgetown County Detention Center. Charges are pending as investigators continue to gather evidence and seek out witnesses.

The case remains ongoing.
