Teen charged for Red Bank Road hit-and-run, troopers say
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A 19-year-old is accused of hitting an individual on Red Bank Road and then leaving the scene, state troopers said.
Cruz Martin Mortero Cerritos was charged with leaving the scene of a collision with great bodily harm and is booked at the Berkeley County Detention Center.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said Cerritos was traveling in a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder when he struck a pedestrian Sunday around 2:40 a.m. near Mars Lane.
The pedestrian was seriously injured as a result of the collision. No update was given on the condition of the pedestrian.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is the lead investigative agency.
