Cainhoy fire station damaged after SUV crashes into building
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A vehicle crashed into a Cainhoy fire station Sunday night.
The incident happened at Cainhoy Fire Station 1 off Cainhoy Road.
Neither the driver or fire personnel were injured; however, the department said the building suffered heavy structural damage. A fire apparatus was also damaged.
“Cainhoy Fire units and mutual aid units will be on scene for an extended time to stabilize the building, and further damage assessment will take place tomorrow morning,” Cainhoy Fire and Rescue said.
Engine 2502 was relocated to District 1. They do not anticipate a lapse in coverage to that area due to the incident.
