I-26 eastbound shut down after person jumps from Ashley Phosphate overpass

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – North Charleston police have closed all eastbound lanes of I-26 after a person jumped from the Ashley Phosphate Road overpass.

Emergency crews are on the scene, and authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area while the investigation continues.

Witnesses tell News 2 that an 18-wheeler and at least 3 other cars appear to be involved in the incident.
