Trident Health opens new therapy center in downtown Charleston
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Trident Health is making mental health services more accessible to downtown Charleston residents.
A new Live Oak Mental Health Therapy Center has opened at 40 Calhoun Street in Suite 230. The center offers individual or group therapy in a boutique office setting, healthcare officials said.
Patients can choose either an in-person or virtual appointment. The new office is a branch of Trident Medical Center.
Therapists Patricia Spens, LPC, and Michelle Park, LPC, can accommodate a wide range of holistic therapy needs, including individual sessions, family sessions, and group sessions.
“The new Live Oak Mental Health Therapy Center represents an important step forward as we continue addressing the ongoing mental health needs in the Charleston region,” said Jeff Wilson, President, Trident Health, and CEO, Trident Medical Center. “By offering convenient therapy services for individuals aged 12 and older, we are enhancing the well-being of our community.”
Spens has more than 30 years of counseling service experience.
“My belief is that this journey is a lifelong process, and there is often a time in our lives when people need to speak to someone who can help them process whatever they experience with no judgment,” she said.
Park has a master’s in counseling psychology from the University of Kansas and a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Central Missouri.
