Man given citation after driving onto Isle of Palms beach, police say
ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – A man visiting from out of town was given a citation this week after he drove onto a Lowcountry beach and then left the scene.
Isle of Palms police said the man and a juvenile passenger drove onto an emergency beach access path Tuesday and then attempted to drive up a beach walking path while trying to leave.
The man and juvenile left the scene before police arrived.
Officers determined where the two were vacationing and issued the driver a citation for ‘unlawful vehicle on the beach’.
The vehicle was towed off the beach.
