Man arrested in Columbia for Cross double shooting
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the Cross double shooting that claimed the lives of two and injured one.
Devin Reakwon Dantzler, 28, of County Line Road in Cross, was arrested Tuesday in Columbia with the assistance of the US Marshal Service, according to deputies.
Dantzler is charged with two charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, Burglary 1st Degree and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime,
The shooting happened on Spiers Landing Road on Nov. 26. Two victims were found deceased at the scene, a 16-year-old male from Cross and Mr. Kee Juan D. Middleton, 25, of Cross.
Deputies later located a third victim who was transported to the hospital with injuries.
“Our detectives were able to immediately identify a person of interest in the shooting and they began working leads on the suspect that same night.” Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis stated. “This case is another example of how working with other agencies can ensure offenders are apprehended quickly. Dantzler is being extradited back to Berkeley County.”
