Morris Chestnut and Mindy Kaling will have the honor of announcing this year’s Golden Globes awards nominees.

Broadcasting on December 9 on CBS, Chestnut and Kaling will announce the nominees for each of the 27 award categories, including the newest additions, Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

Chestnut and Kaling join the likes of Alfre Woodard, America Ferrera, Angela Bassett, Anna Kendrick, Cedric “The Entertainer,” Chloë Grace Moretz, Christian Slater, Dakota Fanning, Danai Gurira, Dennis Quaid, Don Cheadle, and Garrett Hedlund, who were previous Golden Globes nominations presenters.

Other categories include Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and Best Motion Picture – Animated. TV categories include Best Television Series – Drama, Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and Best Television Limited Series.

The Dick Clark Produced-awards show, which Penske Media Eldridge owns, will air on CBS Sunday, January 25, 2025, and marks the beginning of the 5-year deal with a television network. It will also stream live on Paramount+.

While we don’t know the nominees yet, we know that Viola Davis will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes. The decorated actress will be honored during a gala ahead of the awards, which Nikki Glaser will host on Friday, January 3, at the Beverly Hilton.

Morris Chestnut’s announcing the Golden Globe nominations comes ahead of his show Watson, which will also air on CBS and Paramount+ in January 2025.

Kaling is also booked and busy with her ensemble comedy, Murray Hill, coming to Hulu.
