The RIAA launched its Gold & Platinum Awards Program in 1958, setting the standard for measuring commercial success in recorded music.

Over the years, the program has become the music industry’s benchmark for recognizing exceptional achievements, trademarking milestones such as the Gold Record (500,000 units), Platinum Record (1,000,000), Multi-Platinum (2,000,000+), and the coveted Diamond status (10,000,000+). T

These certifications must be requested by the artist’s management team.

Beyoncé’s impressive accolades include multiple Platinum certifications for albums like Renaissance (2x Platinum), Lemonade (4x Platinum), and I Am… Sasha Fierce and Dangerously in Love (7x Platinum each).

Her hit singles have also received numerous Platinum honors, from “Me Myself and I” to the empowering anthem “Formation.”
