Alex Murdaugh ordered to pay $14.8M for insurance scheme
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WSAV) – Convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh has lost another case and must pay millions of dollars in damages.
A judge ordered Murdaugh to pay Nautilus Insurance $14.8 million for an insurance scheme involving the family of his former housekeeper.
Murdaugh admitted on the stand that he created a story about how Gloria Satterfield died, all to get a $3.8 million insurance settlement.
Murdaugh is serving two life sentences in a South Carolina prison for murdering his wife and son. He was also sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for his financial crimes.
