Downtown gym collecting supplies for California wildfire victims

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A gym located in downtown Charleston is collecting relief items for victims of the California wildfires.

Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes, many of which have been destroyed, as wildfires rip through the greater Los Angeles area this week, fueled by very high winds.

Ethos Athletic Club (311 Huger Street) is serving as a collection site for items to help support fire victims.

Needed items include:

  • New and gently used clothing, outerwear, footwear, and accessories for all ages, genders, and sizes
  • New undergarments like underwear, socks, and bras
  • Baby items like formula, diapers, and blankets

You are asked to bring only the items listed and place them inside the bins in the cafe.

Relief items will be collected from Saturday, January 11 through Saturday, January 18.
