Schools announce schedule changes due to winter weather

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County School District is adjusting its schedule this week due to anticipated winter weather.

Schools will operate on a two-hour early dismissal schedule Tuesday.

Kaleidoscope, extracurricular activities, and all after-school programs scheduled for Tuesday are canceled.

The district will then shift to eLearning and remote work on Wednesday. All school and district buildings will be closed for the day.

“Your child’s teacher or school will provide specific instructions to ensure a smooth transition to eLearning, including access to necessary materials and resources,” the district said.

Children who need assistance with eLearning tools or platforms can contact the district’s IT Help Desk at (843) 308-8181 for support.

“We will continue to monitor weather conditions later in the week and will communicate any needed operational changes as soon as possible,” the district said.
